One Day Intensive Course
This course provides the basic understanding of rock physics and AVO analysis for exploration and development projects. Focusing on some of the fundamental principles of rock physics including fluid substitution, rock physics diagnostics and well-based seismic forward modelling will be the main focus of this course. Attribute analysis based on reverse engineered seismic interpretation techniques using rock physics diagnostics will be the key part of this course. Seismic inversion and 4D seismic feasibility and interpretation are two topics that will briefly be discussed during the course to introduce the course participants to the basic principles of these technologies. There will be ample opportunities for exercises, to give the participants the opportunity to develop some hands-on experience with these principles. The final exercise will encompass rock physics modelling including fluid substitution, AVO modelling and 4D seismic.
